Automotive 3D Scanning in Martinique
3D scanning captures the shape of a part or an area of a vehicle in order to prepare an adaptation, a reconstruction or a clearance check.
What is 3D scanning used for?
- Capturing geometry that is hard to measure by hand
- Creating a working base for CAD
- Comparing an existing part with a remanufactured one
- Designing a mount suited to a dashboard or compartment
- Preparing a prototype or small batch
A scan is not always enough
A point cloud or mesh often needs cleaning and then rebuilding into a usable model. Mounting surfaces, clearances, thicknesses and mechanical function require further analysis.
Preparing the job
Give the overall dimensions, how accessible the area is, the finish wanted and the precision required. Feasibility depends in particular on the size, colour, reflections and condition of the part.
